ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT ACCESS
Rowing Canada Aviron has the following adaptive equipment available for use by clubs or provincial organizations:
• 7 Trunk and Arms and Arms only Wintech fixed seats.
• 7 sets of pontoons (adapters not included go to:
www.wintechracing.com under spare parts)
RCA member clubs and Provincial Sport Organizations in good standing are eligible to access this equipment.
Overview:The Rowing Canada Aviron Adaptive Committee has recognized that clubs wanting to introduce or who are in the early stages of introducing adaptive rowing to their community may be limited by lack of adaptive equipment. By providing access to both adaptive seats and pontoons it is hoped that clubs will see the benefits of this equipment and continue to develop and advance adaptive rowing at the local level.
Application for clubs:Clubs wishing to access this equipment may do so on a first come first serve basis. Consideration will be given to those clubs with:
• A serious intent to develop or have a developing adaptive program.
• Provincial support.
• Those clubs with limited adaptive equipment and adaptive athletes.
• Geographically close clubs that “partner” to share equipment.
Applications should indicate how the club intends to use the equipment and anticipated outcomes. An email or letter of support from the club’s Provincial Sport Organization must be included in the application. Applications for the 2007-2008 year (April 1-March 31) are now being accepted. Please email to Jennifer Browett, Domestic Development Officer-Sport Development at
browett@rowingcanada.org . Successful applicants will be expected to provide RCA with a report on the success of the equipment no later than March 31, 2008. Photos are encouraged.
Provincial Sport Organizations (PSO’s):PSO’s are encouraged to make arrangements with their successful member club applicants to use the equipment for camps, demonstrations etc.
RCA reserves the right to use this equipment; with at least two weeks advance notice (on a short term basis, a weekend or day) if necessary throughout the period of the loan. PSO’s may also access this equipment for a similar period of time with a similar advance-warning period. Please download the
Adaptive Equipment Loan Agreement for specifics.
