For those just starting out, getting to know the sport of rowing can seem overwhelming! Not to worry, finding a club in your area will help you to get on the water quick. Clubs offer a variety of programming for the first-time rower including Learn to Row and Come and Try, that will introduce Youth rowers to the sport.

From introductory programs to competitive opportunities, Youth rowers have a lot of options. Competitive opportunities can begin at the high school level and continue to University, Junior and Under-23 levels. Learn more about RCA’s High Performance Program here.

iRow Youth Rowing Program

RCA, with support from Sport Canada, has created the iRow Youth Rowing Program which promotes the sport of rowing through outreach to schools. This program focuses on communicating the values of rowing and engaging students in a fun and rewarding rowing experience. RCA has provided each club with an iRow Program communication and instructional package to encourage growth in youth rowing in school communities in their area.
