National Adaptive Team

In 2005, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) announced that rowing has been accepted as a new sport on the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games program. Rowing Canada Aviron sent its first National Adaptive Team to the World Championships in 2004 - and since then has made great strides. In 2010, the adaptive four (LTA 4+) won the World Championships, setting a world's best time in the process. This section is dedicated to updates on the National Adaptive Team, for general info on the growing sport of adaptive rowing, see our adaptive section under "types of rowing."
