National Adaptive Team

Iadaptiven 2005, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) announced that rowing has been accepted as a new sport on the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games program. Rowing Canada Aviron sent its first National Adaptive Team to the World Championships in 2004. This section is dedicated to updates on the National Adaptive Team, for general info on the growing sport of adaptive rowing, see our adaptive section of Rowing Programs.

2010

  • Link to article on NART Training Camp in St Catharines, Ont.
  • Adaptive Selection Camp, July 3-11 Welland, Ont. Adaptive Team Crews will be nominated on the basis of performance at a selection camp. The selection camp for LTA4+ Mixed Gender, TA2x Mixed Gender, A1x Male and A1x Female shall commence on or about July 3, 2010 (Welland, Ontario). Nominations for the National Adaptive Team shall be made no later than August 30, 2010.
    The selection and development camp will be held under the supervision of the Lead Coach. The Selection camp will be by invitation only. Athletes wishing to be considered for the adaptive team must submit their request with their latest May 10th ergometer score to the National Team Manger parfitt@rowingcanada.org by June 7, 2010. Invitations to the selection camp will be made by the Lead Coach-Adaptive by June 14, 2010. The applicants will be evaluated by their submitted erg scores by a committee and then will be notified of their invitation.
