Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) is pleased to announce the launch of the RCA Athlete Development Pathway eLearning Module which supports the continuing education and development of Canadian rowing coaches.
“RCA is very excited to provide this module to the Canadian coaching community,” said Colleen Miller, Sport Development Officer, RCA. “The updated RCA Athlete Development Pathway has provided coaches with current learnings in rowing knowledge and sport science. Adding an interactive component along with the resource will enhance coaches’ understanding of the framework for athlete development.”
The module, available at the RCA website, applies the learnings coaches gain from the Athlete Development Pathway to scenarios important in a coaching environment. The interactive module is meant to further the knowledge of the coaching community. Following the completion of the module and an assessment, coaches are able to gain one NCCP Professional Development credit.
RCA was among the first National Sport Organizations to embrace the Canadian Sport for Life initiative and adopted the RCA Long Term Athlete Development plan. In May 2015, RCA updated the renamed Athlete Development Pathway. This comprehensive document supports coaches by providing the framework that details innovations in rowing knowledge and sport science.
