Day Two: World Rowing Under 23 Championships

(July 25, 2013) : The 2013 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Linz-Ottensheim, Austria, continued today with Canada's crews getting the chance to test their speed against the best in this age category.

Last year's U23 World bronze medalist  Carling Zeeman of Cambridge, ON,  won her heat today in 7:52.51 to easily advance to the semi-final of the women's single sculls event. Filippa Kaarrfelt of Sweden qualified with Zeeman from this heat.

The Canadian men’s coxed four had a gutsy rep today to finish second in 6:16.81 and progress to the final. Germany won in 6:15.73, and Great Britain (6:16.97) was forced to the B final.

This crew is Robert Gage of Hamilton, ON, Alexander Janzen of Langley BC,  William O'Connell of  Victoria BC, Trofym Anderson of Welland, ON, and coxswain Jacob Koudys of Fonthill, ON.
